The hardest part about moving is finding a new church. I miss the one we just moved from, but I really miss our true church. The one that broke my heart and crushed our pastor. We humans are capable of such destruction. Yet at the end of the day, we still need each other. I keep going back to Hebrews 10:24-25:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another —and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Are these verses in the Bible because God knew exactly what we would do to each other sometimes? That I would wonder if assembling together is worth the pain? I think so. We are so proud, so fragile, so human. So in need of the mercy and grace of the Savior. So in need of the mercy and grace we forget to give others. Yes, churches are filled with other flawed humans, but where two or three gather in His name, He will be there. He will be there. (Matthew 18:20) That is no small promise!
So, in a short while, we are off to church. I hope to see you there.
